Hey DoubleReed members!
Why aren't there blog updates and tags? ):
I do hope to see more updates and tags after my post alright. (:
Anyway, that's not the main purpose for today's post.
What I want to say is that, we, doublereed section can do better than
what we are doing now!
We shall not be staying at the same spot but instead, move on and
improve even more, especially when SIBF is coming in a few months time.
It might seem as if there is still so much time left,
but after calculating the number of practices till then,
we do not have so much time as it seem to be.
To Chelsea and Wanxin:
You're doublereed section's future hope and glory!
I know you guys might be feeling really stressed up and pressurized
because of the solos in 'Eagle Bend'.
Do take it one step at a time, you guys are actually doing fine.
But both of you have to put in more effort and hardwork to
do your score study at home and come back for sectionals to practice.
There's so many things you guys can practice on and I don't see anyone
of you circling your scores or putting in small notes like: Beware of tuning,
take note of change of key or play out the melody.
I'm really glad you guys took my advice when I told both of you something.
I'm seriously really glad. (: So could you make me and Jesmond even
glader (LOL) by practicing harder and putting in more effort?
And I want both of you to fight off something, which is fear!
The seniors would not be with you all the time so you have to
pluck up your courage and play out, especially during combined band.
NO MORE MOUSEY NOTES! (Your motto, haha)
And now, I would like to share this really short story
which could bring out what I am trying to say.
Thomas Edison tried two thousand different materials in search of a filament for the light bulb. When none worked satisfactorily, his assistant complained, "All our work is in vain. We have learned nothing." Edison replied very confidently, "Oh, we have come a long way and we have learned a lot.
We now that there are two thousand elements which we cannot use to make a good light bulb."
If you never try, you will never know.
So do you want to be Thomas Edison or his assistant?
Mistakes are more than mistakes, it can be your learning experience too.
Take everything positively and try your very best!

Hey DR! Vanessa will be having a concert, Musical Delight XXXIII, on 18th January 2010, which is on a Monday. She had been such a WONDERFUL senior to us for the past few years, we must of course try to support her, right?! :D We can also learn from the SP band's playing, and we can improve ourselves! Isn't that wonderful?! Tickets will be selling at $15 each. Venue will be at Esplanade Concert Hall, which is the same venue as the place we went for Jacob de Haan's concert. The concert will start at 7.30pm. Please try to go, as great concerts come by once in a blue moon. And I really really hope all of you can make it! That's all for now! :]
