{/Work hard!
Thursday, December 10, 2009 ( 1:54 AM )

Hey DR! It's been quite long since I actually posted. So yeah, specially here to motivate you people! =D As you know, there is a very high chance that we'll be performing at next year's SIBF(Singapore International Band Festival). The standard is high, so we all have to buck up! Especially the sec 2s! Imagine, next year, if Zoey and I cannot make it for the performance, there's only left you 2! And maybe the newly joined DR. You all will have to be independent from now on! Don't always depend on us! We are stepping down in a few months' time, and there's only 2 of you left. So you guys must really work hard! Don't only aim for the centre, try to aim for the top! If you have higher goals, you can improve alot more! Even if you fail, don't be discouraged, cause it's not like the end of the world right? So always keep trying, don't be afraid of failing!
Also, remember to do your score study, as it is plenty important. You don't go to school without your homework done right? So it's the same concept for band, we need to score study at home, so that when we have band practice, we can have more time on other programmes other than score studying. So remember to score study Eagle Bend, The Fanfare of Wakakusa Hill, Postcard from Singapore. And also, try your best to memorize The Fanfare of Wakakusa Hill. Do your best in score studying, and treat them very seriously, I repeat, very seriously. I can see if you did your serious score studies at home once the next band practice starts. So, if you didn't do them properly, prepare for the consequences.
Now, about the band outing on 21st Dec, it'll be held at ECP (East Coast Park). Meeting place will be at the phone booth area at Bedok Interchange at 1.15pm. It will start on 1.15pm and end approximately on 8.30pm. If you are coming later or have to leave earlier on the day itself, please text a message to any of the leaders by 18 Dec, you will be allowed to leave if you have a valid reason. As for BBQ pit number, please refer to the band blog. Attire for band outing will be either section tee or dark-coloured tee. For the outing, you'll have to pay $5 to me by 18 Dec. Any difficulties in payment, text me a message personally.
Guys, you all must be determined to do well, really. And Sec 2s, its really time to wake up. Please really really work hard at home, in terms of score study or practicing your instruments. Please practice the scales oboe tutor taught us. If you don't learn and implement it, it'll be futile. So, play hard and work hard during the holidays! Relax while you play the instrument, don't get tensed up so easily, it'll affect the tuning. Make sure your embrouchure doesn't change. You can look at the mirror while you play, to find out that if you did or did not change your embrouchure. Well, that's almost all to it. Remember to drink lots of water and take care of yourselves! Bon voyage to those who are travelling overseas during the holidays! Bye.
Jesmond
